We invite you to consider sponsoring the cost of teaching a child at Tereo on a monthly basis. You may select the grade and gender of the child, and we will provide quarterly feedback in the form of school results and a personal letter from the child.
Cost of Sponsorship
- Full cost per child: R3 600 per month
- WCED subsidy: reduces this to R2 800 per month
- Flexible options:
- 100% sponsorship – R2 800 pm
- 50% sponsorship – R1 400 pm
- 25% sponsorship – R700 pm
- As a registered PBO, all donations are tax deductible, and we will provide you with a Section 18A certificate.
What your R2800 will cover
Government schools receive larger subsidies and teacher salaries are covered by the education department.
At Tereo, we receive only a small subsidy per child. Our actual raw cost is R3 600 pm, reduced to R2 800 with the WCED contribution. This covers:

No. Your sponsorship is valued for what it is. While we sometimes assist children with needs like eyecare or dental visits, you will not be asked for additional payments.
Direct contact is not encouraged to protect both the child and sponsor. Communication runs through the school, and you are welcome to write encouraging notes. You may also attend school award functions where sponsors are invited.
We understand financial situations change. You may start small—for example, sponsoring a Grade 7 child at 25%. At year-end, you can decide whether to continue.
No. While we hope you’ll continue support as long as possible, there is no obligation beyond your chosen commitment. Should you wish to extend support post-Tereo (e.g., into high school), we can help facilitate that transition.
